Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we get on the phone every day — pricing, delivery, sizes, access, and how billing works. If yours isn't here, call the office at 310-515-9122 (Mon–Fri, 8am–5pm) and a real person picks up.

What does a portable storage container cost?

Our prices are public. Kept at your place, it's $99/month for the 5x8, $199 for the 8x12, $279 for the 8x16, and $299 for the 8x20. Stored at our Gardena warehouse, it's $149, $269, $299 and $379 for those same sizes.

Delivery and pickup are separate and run $79 to $109 per trip. That's the whole price list — no teaser rate that doubles in month two. We break down every line item in our portable storage prices guide, or you can get a quote and we'll put your exact number in writing.

How does delivery work, and what does it cost?

You tell us the address and where you want the container. We show up, place it, and leave. Delivery and pickup run $79 to $109 per trip depending on distance and access — Gardena, Torrance and Inglewood are at the low end, Ventura County, Riverside and far east Orange County at the top. A standard rental has two trips: one out, one back.

You don't have to be home. We recommend it the first time so you can point at the exact spot you want it, but plenty of customers just text us a photo of the driveway and we handle it. The driver calls when he's en route.

What sizes do you offer, and what are the real dimensions?

Four sizes. The 5x8 is 5 feet wide by 8 feet long by 8 feet high. The 8x12, 8x16 and 8x20 are all 8 feet wide and 8 feet high — the number that changes is the length.

Rough guide: the 5x8 holds a studio or a garage cleanout. The 8x12 handles a one-bedroom. The 8x16 is our most rented size and covers a two- to three-bedroom house or most remodels. The 8x20 is for big houses and commercial jobs. Our storage container size guide walks through it in more detail so you don't pay for space you won't use.

My driveway is tight. Can you actually fit a container in there?

Usually yes, and this is the thing we're known for. We use a remote-controlled placement system, so the driver walks the container into position instead of backing a flatbed in and hoping. We put containers into narrow driveways, side yards, and behind gates that a standard delivery truck would never reach.

If you're not sure, send us a photo of the spot before you book. We'd rather tell you the truth on the phone than show up and not be able to do it. Call 310-515-9122.

Should I keep the container at my place or store it at your warehouse?

Depends on how often you need your stuff. Keep it at your place if you're loading over weeks, working through a remodel, or you want 24/7 access without calling anybody — it's also the cheaper monthly rate.

Send it to our Gardena warehouse if you don't have room, your HOA won't love it out front, or you're between houses. We load at your place, haul it back, and it sits on our secured yard. Worth noting: the 8x16 is only $20 a month more stored than parked, so if that's your size, off-site costs almost nothing extra.

When can I get to my things at your Gardena warehouse?

Seven days a week, 7am to 7pm, with 24 hours advance notice. The notice isn't us being difficult — it's so we can pull your container down and set it in an open area where you can walk in, spread out, and actually find what you came for instead of squeezing into a row.

Call 310-515-9122 the day before and we'll have it ready. There's no charge to access your unit.

How fast can I get a container?

Most deliveries go out the next day. When someone's in a genuine bind — escrow moved up, flood, fire, landlord gave you a week — we've turned containers around in about 24 hours.

That said, if you're planning a move or a remodel, book 7 to 10 days out. Summer fills up fast and a reserved container is a container you know you're getting. Call 310-515-9122 and ask what's on the yard.

What areas do you serve?

Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, and Ventura County. We run out of Gardena, so the South Bay, the Westside, Long Beach and central LA are our home turf, and we go out from there daily.

We do not serve Lancaster or Palmdale. We'd rather tell you that up front than quote you and cancel three days later.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Everything is month to month. No annual term, no early termination penalty, no minimum you have to guess at when your remodel or your escrow drags out.

Your billing starts the day we deliver and runs 30 days. When you're done, you call us and we come get it. We don't prorate partial months, which is why we start your clock on delivery day instead of the first of the month — your bills don't all land at once.

How does billing work?

We invoice you through Square. You get an emailed invoice with a pay link and you can pay by card or bank transfer — no account to create, no checkout cart. Monthly invoices go out on your rental anniversary, not on the first, since your term started the day we dropped the container.

Prices on this site are the prices on the invoice. If something looks off, call the office at 310-515-9122 and we'll straighten it out.

Do you have any specials running?

Yes — 50% off your first month on the 8x16. That's our most popular size and the one we keep the deepest inventory of, so it's the one we can afford to discount. The discount applies to the first month's rent, not to delivery.

If you're torn between the 8x12 and the 8x16, the special usually makes the bigger container the cheaper first month. Details are on the 8x16 special offer page. We also honor a military discount — ask when you call.

Do I need HOA approval or a city permit?

On your own driveway or private property, almost never. On the street, sometimes — a few cities in our service area require a temporary encroachment or right-of-way permit for anything parked in the public right of way, and that's on the homeowner to pull from the city.

HOAs are their own animal. Most allow a container for a set number of days; some want it out of sight. Check your CC&Rs before you book, and if your HOA needs dimensions, insurance info, or a placement plan, call us at 310-515-9122 and we'll send whatever they ask for.

Is the container secure? Can I put my own lock on it?

Yes. These are steel containers with weather-sealed doors that lock from the outside, and you use your own lock so you're the only one with a key. We recommend a 2-3/4 inch disc lock or a heavy 1-3/4 inch padlock.

They are not wooden crates. Containers stored on our Gardena yard sit behind a secured, monitored facility, and stacked units add another layer. We also stock camo containers if you'd rather it not stand out on your street.

Do you have a referral program?

We do, and it's simple: send us someone who rents a container and you get $50 and they get $50. No cap, no punch card, no expiration games.

Just have them mention your name when they call 310-515-9122, and we'll take care of both sides. A big chunk of our business comes from customers telling their neighbors, and we'd rather pay you than an ad network.

What can't I store in the container?

Standard storage restrictions. No hazardous materials — gas, propane, solvents, paint thinner, chemicals, ammunition, anything flammable or corrosive. No perishable food. No live plants or animals, and nobody lives in a container.

We also recommend you keep irreplaceable items with you: cash, deeds, passports, jewelry, and family heirlooms. Your rental agreement has the full list. If you're unsure about a specific item, ask us before delivery day — it's a 30-second phone call.

Still have a question?

Call 310-515-9122 and talk to someone in Gardena who actually drives these containers — no call center, no hold music. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. You can also get a quote online and we'll come back to you fast.
